The spacious bridge of the Smaragd is equipped with modern communication and navigation equipment such as electronic nautical charts and satellite communication.

The ship has a single hold of over 63 meters, making her extremely suitable for for long project cargo’s such as wind turbines, large constructions for the offshore industry, cranes etc. With her low air draft the Rhine is frequented regularly. The service speed is 10.5 knots. The specialised hull shape is conducive to a low fuel consumption.

The hold is box shaped and fitted out with movable grain bulkheads for an optimal subdivision and transportation of combined dry cargos. The ship has a comfortable accommodation complete with satellite antenna so that all Dutch radio and TV channels are available in practically all of Europe.
